Charlie Hurrell has been named managing director at mcgarrybowen London, working across the agency’s accounts. Hurrell had been managing director at MullenLowe in London.
Magazines
Bonnier Corp. has named Meredith Bodgas editor in chief at Working Mother magazine, effective Dec. 22. Bodgas joins from Bauer Xcel Media, where she was executive editor and helped re-launch FirstForWomen.com and WomansWorld.com.
The Atlantic has brought in Franklin Foer as a features and essay writer, beginning in early 2017. Foer is a former editor at The New Republic.

Bloomberg News has named Joe Nocera a columnist for Bloomberg View, the company’s opinion publication. Nocera was previously a staff writer and columnist at The New York Times.
BuzzFeed has named Gilad Lotan vice president of data science, a newly created position at the website. Lotan has previously held positions at Betaworks, SocialFlow, Microsoft and Endemol.
Elsewhere at BuzzFeed, the site has brought in Anthony Cormier as an investigative reporter, beginning next month. Cormier was previously an investigative reporter at The Tampa Bay Times.
Video personalization company IRIS.TV has made two hires, naming Ashley King and Christian De Gennaro vice presidents of sales. King joins from AndBeyond.Media, while De Gennaro was previously at Verve Mobile.
Audience data company Eyeota has named Kevin Tan head of U.S. operations, in charge of the company’s new U.S. office. Tan is also co-founder and chief executive officer at the company.

Fox News Channel has named John Roberts chief White House correspondent, beginning on Inauguration Day. Roberts has been with Fox News since 2011, and before that he was at CNN.
President Elect Donald Trump will retain his title as executive producer on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” which returns on Jan. 2, just a few weeks before Trump moves into the Oval Office. He insisted in a tweet that he’ll have nothing to do with the day-to-day operation of the show. Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to host the rebooted version.
Darrell Ewalt, vice president and executive producer for event programming and production at AXS TV, died over the weekend of complications following a choking incident. Ewalt was an original hire of AXS TV 15 years ago when it launched as HDNet.
Audrey Morgan, an actress who most recently appeared in “Empire,” died late last month at age 64 after battling uterine and cervical cancer. Morgan has also made appearances on “Chicago Med” and “Boss.”
Joseph Mascolo, the actor best known for playing Stefano DiMera on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,” died last week at age 87 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mascolo also had roles on “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “General Hospital.”
